The Sustainable Farming Incentive forms the baseline entry point for the new Environmental Land Management schemes (ELMS), and it will open in reduced form to all BPS applicants in 2022 (SFI2022) before the full scheme opens in 2024. In the meantime, DEFRA are running an SFI pilot to test different elements of the scheme.
