Radley Large Wood comprises an attractive block of ancient woodland, rich in wildlife and high in amenity value, extending to approximately 22.24 hectares (54.95 acres). The wood supports mixed species of oak, ash, lime, beech, birch and hazel with a number of veteran oaks. The wood is designated by Natural England as Ancient & Semi Natural Woodland (ASNW) as shown on the Forestry Commission’s Land Information Search (LIS) map. The ASNW designation indicates the land has been under continuous tree cover since at least 1600 AD.
The property is located to the immediate south of the village of Kennington and to the north of the village of Radley, which both lie to the south of the university city of Oxford. It is well located with good road access to Radley (1.5 miles), Abingdon (3.5 miles) and Oxford (6 miles).
